Colonel of the 41st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry at the Battle of Missionary Ridge, 1863. Wiley was appointed commandant of Camp Cleveland in 1864, where he oversaw the rendezvous and training of several new infantry regiments, and as a Major became the chief mustering officer at Cleveland, where he administered the discharge of some 11,654 Union troops. Wiley later practiced law in Wooster, Ohio and served 1 term as probate judge in Wayne County. He was nominated for Congress in 1878, and ...
